In nature, there is no inherent right or wrong; however, humans have the unique ability to choose what they like. These choices may vary over time, geography, or among different people. Yet, certain elements in nature, such as sunlight, water, oxygen, and food, are fundamental and unchangeable. These are the ethical foundations formed by nature, essential for life.
Similarly, in human life, certain realities are immutable. However, we have the freedom to choose what we want and how we want it. These choices define who we are. This is where Sankalpa (intention) comes into play. We need to determine our Sankalpa, such as deciding to live a healthy life. Once our Sankalpa is fixed and focused, we are ready for Sadhana (practice).
Sankalpa can evolve or be upgraded for better solutions. For example, based on my mindset and body environment, I chose not to eat chicken and to practice physical activity by running. With this determination, I practiced for two years. Later, my body needed rest from running, so I adjusted to running three days a week. I then chose certain outdoor sports activities and reduced mobile phone usage.
Whatever the case, your Sankalpa must be strong, then next stage of your Sadhana will be productive.
